Northwest Tennessee Basketball Association (NWTBA) gives anyone a strong path to becoming an official. We have a consistent, rigorous training program, ongoing skills review process, and opportunities to refresh one's craft in and out of season. NWTBA officials are the best at what they do.
Why Did I Begin Officiating?
I started out because a friend asked me if I wanted to try officiating. Little did I know 23 years later I would still be officiating. I enjoy the challenge of getting it right and the fellowship of working with other officials. - Keith Wish
A referee must strike the balance of being authoritative and assertive without arrogance. You will be called upon to make those big calls and you must have courage. You have earned the title of referee because of your knowledge and ability, so trust yourself and make your decisions decisively.
